Oval Solitaire with Hidden Halo
The Clue
One word isn't a design. It's a direction. "Simple" told us what she didn't want — no ornamentation competing with the stone, nothing loud — but it left everything else open: setting, silhouette, band profile, whether a halo belonged at all. That's the part most people don't realize matters. Simple has a hundred variations, and the wrong one still counts as a mistake. Finding the right one without her in the room meant someone had to ask, on her behalf, the questions she'd have asked herself.

The Process
This is why we build mood boards before we build rings. Round after round, we worked through setting, style, prong shape, band profile, accent options — not to add complexity, but to rule it out. Each board made the picture of what was actually right a little clearer. Somewhere in the middle of that process, "simple" stopped being a word and started being a shape.
The Hidden Detail
When someone wants simple, the visible details can't do all the work — so the hidden ones have to. Beneath the basket, we set a single row of diamonds: a secret halo, invisible from above, that adds presence without ever touching the silhouette she asked for. From the front, the ring reads clean. No halo framing, nothing competing with the stone. It's only from certain angles — catching light, catching a glance — that the detail reveals itself. A piece of the design that belongs entirely to her, whether or not she ever notices it's there.
The Reveal
Mood board to CAD to finished piece — every decision along the way earned its place in the final design: a custom oval solitaire with a secret halo, set in eighteen-carat yellow gold. The reveal is always worth the distance it took to get there.
